Other mediation services offered by EMI
Erickson Mediation Institute provides mediation services in areas besides divorce mediation and parenting mediation. Here is a brief description of other mediation services offered by EMI:
Post divorce issues
Often issues continue to surface after a mediated divorce settlement. Mediation can help resolve post-divorce issues around child custody, parenting disputes, money issues, changes in where each parent lives and changes around future marriages and step parenting.
Never-married parents
EMI helps never-married parents deal with similar issues to married parents who are dealing with divorce, custody, co-parenting and asset division. We will help you understand the differences in the law when you are not married and sort through feeling and goals to reach a fair and mutual solution.
Domestic partnerships
Domestic partners have many of the same issues around parenting, separation, co-parenting, dividing assets and custody schedules. EMI provides mediation services to domestic partners dealing with these or other issues.
Generational family care issues
Many families take in other family members in need of care and provide that care. Examples are when a family takes an aging or ailing parent into their home or cares for a relative. These arrangements can be short or long-term. Many times, issues arise over the cost of care, responsibilities among family members and so on. EMI has experience helping families sort through these issues and reach agreement.
Eldercare issues
Children of elder parents (and sometimes spouses of the children) often must make difficult decisions regarding medical and residential care, end-of-life issues and inheritance. Often a neutral third-party mediator can help family members articulate their feelings and concerns and help families reach agreement on actions.
