CD on talking to children about divorce
By Marilyn McKnight
You can listen to it in your car and share it with clients. In the 30-minute CD, Marilyn McKnight, M.A., provides the language to use that will improve the children's adjustment to the divorce. "Most divorcing parents avoid this discussion, and then their children learn about the divorce from one parent in a biased manner," Marilyn says. "It's far better for both parents to have this discussion together with the children. They need a plan for the conversation, an agreement that there's not going to be a bad guy, and to communicate that the divorce is not the children's fault. The result is that children won't be inclined to take sides." 2007.
