Manager training details

The two and one half day training can be tailored to your needs. The training covers:

Protocols. We design and provide personalized protocols for your workplace about creating and maintaining a healthy workplace atmosphere. This includes a statement of commitment and a system of managing conflict at its root. Another component is consultation around integrating the concepts of constructive conflict resolution into personnel policies or workplace operations. Where there are unions, protocols will be offered to the unions to consider and incorporate into their system of resolving conflicts and protecting employee rights.

First responder training. This training includes conflict management skills, process, and techniques. First responders intervene as soon as they know of a conflict and assist the workers involved in resolving it immediately. EMI will provide ten hours of consultation time for the first contact people as they apply their training skills in order to assure that they are successful as they learn how to manage and resolve conflicts.

HR training. EMI trains human resources staff in mediation skills to better serve employees. The training is tailored to the needs of the HR staff in assisting employees who are upset about a divorce, custody, post-decree, or other family conflict.

On-going support. EMI provides conflict management consultants available by phone to assist managers with their internal conflict management. EMI consults with managers about management conflicts and handling of difficult people or situations during or after actual sessions.

Quality control. EMI provides quality control of the conflict management efforts by managers through design and collection of data and reports to the employer how to improve the skills of the managers. Questionnaires are given to disputants at the end of a meeting with a conflict manager. The data is collected confidentially and is used to measure the progress of this system of conflict management.
